Sublime Sportfishing specialises in lure fishing for Barramundi, Mangrove Jack and other estuary species. Fishing the Daintree River offers the best chance in our region to hook a wild Barramundi at any time of the year, our warmer months (September to March) being the optimum time. Even outside of the optimum time, we’ve caught Barramundi on lure in this river in every month of the year.
The Daintree River is our region’s largest river with over 25 km of navigable water. It is surrounded by spectacular mangrove lined estuaries and World Heritage listed rainforest as well as local farmland and is one of our most pristine fishing environments.
It also boasts an amazing array of bird life and plenty of saltwater crocodiles.
A Daintree River fishing charter can also enable an opportunity to fish coastal islands, wrecks and inshore reefs, just at the mouth of the river. This, combined with estuary fishing, can make for a great full or 3/4 day adventure if the weather allows.
We cater for the experienced lure fisherman through to the complete beginner and we’ve put many first timers on to their first ever Barramundi.
Prices are for whole boat private charter, maximum 3 persons.
These trips depart from the Daintree River Ferry boat ramp on Cape Tribulation Rd, approx. 200m before the Daintree River Ferry crossing.
